Driver frustration from lane shifts and closures along Plum Creek Parkway will soon give way to a better flow of traffic. By month end, cones and tape lining the parkway will be replaced by needed improvements from 1-25, through the intersections of Perry and Wilcox Streets.
Changes will result in:
1. A new right lane from southbound Perry Street onto Plum Creek Parkway.
2. The dip will be removed on Plum Creek Parkway at Wilcox Street, along with the addition of turn lanes on both streets.
3. Electronic signage will be added to allow another right lane turn onto 1-25 during morning rush hour and the lanes on the southbound 1-25 off-ramp will follow a new improved traffic pattern.
4. The pavement and curbs along Plum Creek Parkway—between the Douglas County Fair Grounds and Wilcox Street—will also be repaired.
At a Town Council meeting earlier this month, Bob Goebel, Director of Public Works for Castle Rock, said he is confident the work will be completed soon. “There’s still a way to go, but we’re almost home.”
